Did you know that Austin Newcomers Club donated a park bench to the City of Austin?
It is located at the corner of 10th and San Antonio in the northwest corner of Wooldridge Park.
Next to it you can view the dedication plaque below.
The bench is well-used in this
park located across from the Travis County Courts Building.

This summer, attend one of the free Sunday evening Austin Symphony concerts in Wooldridge Park and enjoy it from the bench!

Newcomers Park Bench

Austin falls from 18th to 21st place on Old Spice's new 2005 America's Sweatiest Cities List. The rankings took into account the average height and weight of residents and the average temperature and humidity. The sweat level was determined under the assumption that the person was walking for one hour. Phoenix won first place. The rankings were announced on June 17th, before the summer really heats up. Why?
