Cost:     $3.00 ($1.00 for seniors)

 

Trail Attributes:  7 on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being most difficult. The trails are well-maintained with steep elevation changes. There are restrooms at the beginning and the end of the hike.  Most trails do not allow dogs.

 

Come and enjoy the beautiful McKinney Roughs on 1100 acres of rolling box canyons, wildflower meadows, and lazy river bends. There are 15 miles of outstanding hiking trails with a variety of landscapes.  We will start with hard compact ground and from there hike on 12 inches of pine needles, sand and solid rock.  The LCRA is proud to provide McKinney Roughs as a nature park and natural science center for Texans. 

  

Wearing closed-toe shoes is recommended. Don't forget your water bottle and picnic lunch for after the hike.

 

 

 

Directions:  McKinney Roughs is located on TX 71 13.2 miles east of Austin Bergstrom International Airport; the entrance is on the left.
