"Gardens are not created or made, they unfold, spiraling open like the silk petals of an evening primrose flower to reveal the ground plot of the mind and heart of the gardener and the good earth."
Wendy Johnson, Green Gulch Farm Zen Center, 2000

Herbs, Flowers, Food, and Fun!

It’s spring!  It’s Texas!  Wildflowers line the road between Austin and Fredericksburg, making a delightful drive.

The Fredericksburg Herb Farm is the first stop.  A short talk by Bill Varney discussing “Growing Herbs That Do Well in This Region – How to Grow/How to Use” leads off the program.  We’ll lunch at the Herb Farm.  After lunch, a staff member will give a walking tour of the grounds.

Next stop is the Wildseed Farms. This is a huge nursery with everything a gardener could desire plus native plant seeds.  Bring your camera to capture the colorful fields.   In addition, there are The Butterfly Haus and The Meadow — trial plot and research fields — to view.  Fifteen or more people get the group discount rate of $3.50; individual cost is $5.00 otherwise. Please indicate your interest on the reservation form.  Be prepared to pay Rosalie at the Farms.
