Herbs, Flowers, Food, and Fun!
It’s spring! It’s Texas! Wildflowers line the road between Austin and
Fredericksburg, making a delightful drive.
The Fredericksburg Herb Farm is the first stop. A short talk by Bill
Varney discussing “Growing Herbs That Do Well in This Region – How to Grow/How to Use” leads off the program. We’ll lunch at
the Herb Farm. After lunch, a staff member will give a walking tour of the grounds.
Next stop is the Wildseed Farms. This is a huge nursery with everything a gardener could desire plus native plant seeds. Bring your camera to capture the colorful
fields. In addition, there are The Butterfly Haus and The Meadow — trial plot and research fields — to view. Fifteen
or more people get the group discount rate of $3.50; individual cost is $5.00 otherwise. Please indicate your interest on the reservation
form. Be prepared to pay Rosalie at the Farms.
