Focus on Photography is meant to create friendships and encourage photography for all skill levels. Your camera equipment is not important. The goals are to enjoy taking photos and to improve photography skills. There are normally two events each month: a photo shoot 10:00 AM on the 2nd Tues. of the month (subject to change because of weather or venue); a photo sharing and discussion
of technical elements on the 4th Tues. of the month. It’s OK not to share photos; just come for the discussion and camaraderie.

Friday or Saturday, May 5th or 6th, Pecan Street Festival, 6th Street east of Congress
The annual Pecan St. Festival is a 30-year tradition featuring arts, crafts, home décor, cowboy hats, food vendors, music, street performers and more. Pecan Street was the original name of what we now call 6th St. and indeed, the festival is held on 6th St., east of Congress Ave.

Time: Saturday, May 5th: 11:00 AM – 10:00PM
Sunday, May 6th: 11:00 AM – 8:00PM
Cost: The event is free but parking lot fees will vary. Expect parking lots to fill up quickly. Street parking might be available to early birds.

Capital Metro provides bus transportation downtown. Shuttle service may be available. The festival website has information about public transportation. Visit the festival on your own schedule. There will be ample opportunities to capture the flavor of this popular event through your camera.
Send 3-5 of your photographs to Doug Slack or bring them on a flash drive when we will share them at our review session (see below). All are welcome whether or not photos are submitted.
